As a lot of people have said this is an aviation delight if you are into aviation then this is fantastic, if your not then you may be better finding something your style. There are so many fantastic aircraft here MiG's Antonov's, from before the cold war. Really is fantastic to see so many aircraft and be able to get up close to them sit inside them and see how things were back then. Others have posted about getting there, personally a taxi was easier for me though the staff don't speak English so getting back was a little harder, thanks for the kind locals that helped me out and found me a taxi. There is no relief from the weather cold or hot, so wear appropriate clothing. Looking at the photos that others posted here, there might be an inside but but i didn't find it, still had a great time.

As I have an interest in aviation I thought it would be interesting to visit this place. Is a bit out of town but fairly easy to get there. Bus no. 220 departs frequently just 100m from Metro station 222. Take bus 220 to the terminus, which is at the museum entrance. After waking up the guy in the ticket sales who was more or less asleep, I made my way around the premises. After being in other aviation museums, this place nearly felt like a junkyard for scrapped airplanes. Being a grey and dull January day probably didn't improve the experience. The place was death as a duck. Having said all this, I still think the place is worth a visit.

If you happen to visit Kiev, do visit this Museum. Near Mother Ukraine. Place worth visiting with your kids. They will love to see it.

If you are passionate about planes and you want to see a nice part of Sovietic planes and what they created, this is a nice place and a must see. Fares are not high, you have BAR with beer and water inside. If you want to see it choose a NOT HOT day. The museum is outside and you will get a sunstroke.

I loved this place! Walking around these old Soviet era birds was an amazing experience for me, someone who grew up during the 70's and 80's modern era of the cold war. Dripping with history and well kept, the aircraft lines are beautiful in their functional and stark contrast to western aircraft of the same era. Only $3 to walk around and another $1 for photography privileges. Get inside the Tu-134, Tu154, Il-86, Mi-6 and Mi-8 and pay only another $3.50. You can't go wrong with that! This place is an absolute must for aviation and historical fans of Eastern Bloc aviation!

Too much planes to make a good picture, but collection is excellent - includes jets, props, choppers and even UAVs. Some planes you can get inside.Great collection and must see for any aviation fan

Tremendous line-up of Soviet bomber types. But my highlight was a Be-12 seaplane. A little too tightly packed for really good photos.

I loved how laid back this place was, all the places are parked up, maybe one info board each, thats all. No gimmicks like graphics, or audio guides, just a big apron and the planes. /simples. Oh if youre planning on walkng to the adjacent airport, get a taxi, it's a pretty hairy walk :p

Fantastic! It was great seeing so many beautiful russian planes. Many nice rareties. You can even go into the Illusion 96 and a helikopter but have to pay extra for it. Bus stop right infront of the museum.

A full array of Russian aircraft including a cruise missile. My husband could have stayed there for days. You can also climb onboard several of the aircraft and pretend you're a pilot.

This is a great museum with many interesting aircraft of many types. Civilian and military fixed wing and helicopters of many different kinds and years are on display. It is a little out there, but a taxi ride was no problem. Getting back to the hotel was a little more difficult, and we walked quite a way before finding a taxi, but it was worth it. Cheap admission also a plus.

Huge museum with lots of important aircraft built in Soviet Union, both military and civil. It is an open-air museum and you can visit cabins of Ilyushin IL-62 and Tupolev 154. All were very well maintained on their displays, it is a very nice program for the whole family, of especial interest for children and aviation enthusiasts. It had snow all over, which added beauty to it, I spent 3 hours there but could easily stayed more, will come back.

We took the metro to Demiivska and jumped in a taxi there. He promtly drove us to the Aeroport Kyiv Zhuliany instead of the museum, but it was only 1,5 km away so we walked there in a couple of minutes. I suggest you use the adress listed above if taking a taxi.. The museum is cheap and massive, sporting 90+ airplanes, both civilian and military. Some you can pay a few UAH's to step inside. Only the huge UN cargo helicopter (sadly the cockpit is a mockup, but you can sit in the pilot seat) and a commercial airliner (where the pilot seats where closed of) where available to enter. The souvenir shop was a small air traffic tower, but sadly only had plastic model sets and a few pricey framed pictures
